It is very important that there is room around the fingers so that you have freedom of movement inside the mittens. If the mittens are too tight around the hand, they will have a cooling effect rather than a warming one. Measurements should be taken from the tip of your middle finger, approximately 5 cm up the hand from the wrist bone. The width should be measured across the hand at the thumb knuckle.
