The Ussing Day Bag is a lovely, spacious bag. It is made from the finest Greenlandic sealskin. The bag has a sturdy leather base, ensuring it can stand on its own. The Ussing Day Bag also has an internal zipped pocket, should you need to keep certain items separate from the rest of the bag’s contents. It can be closed either with the zip under the bag flap or simply held shut with the strong magnetic fastening beneath the flap. The comfortable leather shoulder strap can be easily attached and removed. Without the shoulder strap, the Day Bag can be used as a stylish clutch. The shoulder strap is highly adjustable; it can be made very short or extra long. The bag can also be used as a crossover bag.

We are pleased to welcome curious visitors, customers and tourists to our “GG Visitor Center – The Story of the Seal and Greenland”. In Qaqortoq, you will find both one of our sewing studios and our large tannery, where you can gain insight into the craftsmanship and production behind our products.

If you would like a company visit, a school visit or a guided tour, you are very welcome to contact us.

Monday – Friday 10 am – 4 pm
For cruise ship arrivals or other announced visits, we offer extended opening hours.

In modern Greenlandic society, the seal is still an important part of life and culture. Great Greenland has established a visitor centre to provide information about the seal and its uses. Visitors will understand the seal’s importance to the Greenlandic population through exhibitions and by visiting a living workshop.
